History
2 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year Uploaded: 2024
Henry VIII was passionate about building on the foundations of his father – Henry VII, but to distance himself from his father’s unpopularity. His main role model was Henry V, a king obsessed with glory and gallant victories. His main aims were to maintain the stability security and stability of England, while also continuing to establish it as a major European power – seen in his wars against France, and protective alliances such as the Treaty of London in 1518. Furthermore, Henry VIII actively used his sister Mary Tudor as a pawn in his endeavours, securing bonds between countries. The successes of Henry VIII’s foreign policy can be looked at from many angles and were undeniably influenced by his free-spirited approach.
