In view of the above, you decided to allocate RM100,000 to invest (long/short) the CPO futures. a) Discuss the application of commodity futures in hedging, arbitraging, and speculating. b) Outline your investment strategy, e.g. select the contract you will invest in, number of contracts. c) You gave order to your fund’s broker and invest on 1st February 2021 and close all your position on 1st March 2021. • Determine the daily mark to market adjustment to the account if the maintenance margin is 80% of initial margin; • Calculate the total return in percentage. Note: State all your assumption clearly.
