Gerald A. Winer’s and Jane E. Cottrel’s research in 1996 found that there is a large misconception on the basic scientific theories of the mechanics of the eye and its perception. Despite, philosophical and scientific groups disregarding the theory in the early 1600’s, and even as early as the 13th century a large fraction of people still believe the theory (personal communication, D.C.
