Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S.Cerevisae) mutant for VPR1(mVRP1) was examined compared to wild type (WT) cells at room temperature and at 37°C. To confirm VRP1 gene was responsible a rescue experiment was performed, this resulted in cells gaining function of proliferation at 37 degrees. WT and mVRP1 gene was amplified using PCR and an control was ran on agarose gel. Results confirmed that mVRP1 gene was shorter, at around 470 bp and the WT DNA was 850bp.
