Property Offences. Offences involving the wrongful taking of physical property or funds (through fraud) are some of the most commonly prosecuted offences in NSW. This topic examines the concepts of "what is property?", "When is something actually stolen?" Fraud, larceny, break and enter and the elements of these offences are unpacked. Students will also learn about how property offences derived from the concept of 'dishonesty' and the problems that modern 'offences of dishonesty' face. We also look at the 'defence' of mistake in this context.
