Draft Exam Essay-Debt and its reinforcement of the underdeveloped world
POLI3040 - Politics of Globalisation
2 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year: Pre-2021
This essay aims to prove that debt is a pervasive phenomenon due to the way in which third world countries must depend on first world countries and more specifically, this dependency has come about due to the way in which the IMF has endured an irresponsible lending process. Furthermore, the repayment of debts forces countries to neglect areas in which urgently require resources. This reinforces the underdevelopment of the developing world. In order to deal with the question at hand, this essay will address the concepts of structural adjustment, currency devaluation and moral Hazard.
