This study note is about registrable design to determine if it is a qualifying design, the following rules must be satisfied: according to design act 2003 (cth) s8, a design must be related to a product moreover, s5 define that design in relation to a product, means the overall appearance of the product resulting from one or more visual features of the product s6 stated that product define as a thing that is manufactured or handmade s7 define the visual feature in relation to a product includes the shape, configuration, pattern and ornamentation of the product. However, a visual feature does not necessary serve a functional purpose- s7(2). Also, s7(3) stated that the feel of the product and the material used in the product are not visual feature.
