Sample Describe some of the microhabitats found in the ecosystem: Crab Holes/Burrows - Many different species of crap live in crab holes, which create a complex system of tunnels, called burrows. Mangrove Crabs, Semaphore Crabs etc. live in these holes, to protect themselves and the offspring from predators, to shelter from harsh weather conditions and also to lower their body temperature in the soil. Myrmecophyte - Colonies of ants, live in Myrmecophyte. This is because the plants fulfill the requirements and structural adaptations that provide ants with food and shelter, and therefore survival in the ecosystem.
