This proposed study will use the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to reduce the combined usage of alcohol and smoking amongst teenagers. The combined effects of alcohol and nicotine rapidly increases health problems and mortality rates within individuals. An intervention performed by general practitioners and an individual previously diagnosed with significant health problems due to smoking and alcohol will present the effects and risks and promote awareness. Participants will be 200 males and females randomly assigned to either control conditions or intervention conditions. Self-reported questionnaires conducted before and after the intervention will determine a change between drinking and smoking behaviours in participants. It is hypothesised that participants within the intervention condition will reduce their overall alcohol and cigarette consumption than those in the control condition
